The Oakland Athletics placed rookie shortstop Darell Hernaiz on the 10-day injured list Wednesday because of a left ankle injury. Hernaiz was hurt while trying to leg out an infield hit in the second inning of the Athletics' 15-8 loss to the visiting Texas Rangers on Tuesday night.
