The New England Patriots took care of one of their homegrown talents ahead of the 2024 season. The Patriots are looking to rebuild some of the roster in Jarod Mayo’s first season as the head coach. But most of the pieces the team needs to change are on offense.
The Patriots had one of the better defenses in the league last season, and safety Kyle Dugger was an important part of that. He recorded 109 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two interceptions during the 2023 regular season.
According to the NFL Network, Dugger signed a four-year extension worth up to $66 million. The base value is $58 million, of which $32.5 will be guaranteed.
It’s a 4-year deal worth a base value of $58M with a max of $66M, source says. He gets $32.5M guaranteed. A big-time payday. https://t.co/wdyfEOYDp8

The Patriots selected Dugger in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The 28-year-old has recorded 343 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine interceptions, and scored two touchdowns in his four-year NFL career.
The Patriots placed the transition tag on Dugger in March, but they were able to reach an agreement for a long-term deal before the draft.
