Giannis Antetokoumpo Issues Serious Demand for Milwaukee Bucks After Ugly OT Loss

The Milwaukee Bucks almost got a win against a LeBron James-less Los Angeles Lakers , but failed to do so down the stretch. After the game, All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped several demands for himself and the team to follow in the coming days.

In that particular contest, the Lakers went away with the close 128-124 win over the Bucks in double overtime. The Purple and Gold fought their way through a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter to extend the game until victory was in their hands. Anthony Davis put up a monster stat of 34 points and 23 rebounds in almost 52 minutes on the court. Austin Reaves posted 29 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists, while D’Angelo Russell added 29 points of his own.

The Bucks, on the other hand, had Antetokounmpo led the way by dropping 29 points, 21 rebounds, and 11 assists. Damian Lillard contributed 27 points and eight assists, but Milwaukee ultimately fell short to the Lakers due to the ball not moving around and their shots not falling in during the final stretch of the game.

Even with the loss, Milwaukee still retained the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Los Angeles, meanwhile, are in ninth place and fighting to get a better record to prevent falling down to the Play-In Tournament.

After the game, Antetokounmpo faced reporters and shared what must be done to prevent this loss from happening in the near future. in an article written by the Associated Press and posted on Bally Sports:

We’ve got to watch this game, learn from this game,” Antetokounmpo said. “Watch why we weren’t able to get a stop. Watch why the ball wasn’t moving down the stretch. Watch why we lost the game. Watch why there was a lot of 50-50 balls and we weren’t able to get them.”

Antetokounmpo’s demands aren’t impossible to pull off, especially by a Bucks team that has Damian Lillard and other talented guys in it. Otherwise, they would easily fall prey to the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers, the other powerhouse teams in the Eastern Conference.

With only a couple of weeks left in the regular season, it’d be interesting to see whether the Bucks will answer Antetokounmpo’s call or not. Nevertheless, Milwaukee needs to be more deadly in the weeks to come to make a good run at the championship this year.
