Dwight Howard Calls Shaquille O'Neal A Liar And Fake Superman But Wants To End Their Beef

While Howard said he has love for O'Neal, his calling him a liar certainly won't go down too well. Neither will the fact that Howard hilariously called Shaq a fake Superman when talking about the Orlando Magic having retired his jersey.

"They finally retired the first jersey... The fake Superman," Howard said.

Howard had said that the Magic should have retired his jersey before O'Neal's. He certainly was not too happy about that, but I don't think the franchise did anything wrong there.

It is unclear if Shaq heard about that, but he twisted the knife further. O'Neal claimed that Penny Hardaway and Tracy McGrady should have their jerseys retired by the Magic before Howard. That was an absurd statement but at the same time, it wasn't too surprising that he said it.

During this episode of the show, Udonis Haslem and Howard mended fences. Haslem stated he is too old to be holding a grudge against him now and congratulated him on a great career. Howard was delighted to hear that and stated he and O'Neal need to end this beef as well.

"In the NBA we supposed to be brothers shouldn’t be nothing more than a sibling rivalry! Much love UD  … Shaq let’s end this it’s been 50 years."

Would O'Neal be willing to mend fences? I don't think so. Howard has stated in the past as well that he wished they would squash the beef, but nothing has happened yet. O'Neal has spoken about his beef with Howard and from his perspective, he has just been dishing out some tough love for Dwight's betterment.

I am not sure Howard has viewed it that way and I haven't either. At various points, Shaq has crossed the line between tough love and flat-out disrespect. O'Neal once went as far as to claim that Howard is not a Hall of Famer, which was again, just absurd.

Back in 2022, O'Neal claimed he wouldn't hurt Howard's feelings again after Thanksgiving Dinner with his mother. You wondered at the time whether it was really the end, but it wasn't.

Plenty of shots have been fired since then, with the most recent one being when O'Neal said he knew he had to retire when he started putting up "Dwight Numbers." Now that Shaq has his own podcast, you can expect him to fire shots every now and then.
