Red Bull mechanic comes to Esteban Ocon’s rescue during Qualifying at the Bahrain GP only to see his humiliating Q1 exit

The First session of Qualifying at the season-opener Bahrain GP has concluded. Carlos Sainz topped the Q1 session amongst the other 15 drivers moving on to the second session. However, Alpine saw both drivers fail to score a lap time good enough to keep them just above the elimination zone from the session. Max Verstappen eventually took pole for the Saturday’s race.

Hence, Esteban Ocon would begin in the 19th and Pierre Gasly would begin the race from Plum last for the main race. Gasly qualified P20 for the 2023 session of Bahrain GP as well, however, finished P9 down the race. As a result, time will tell about the developments that Enstone brings to the challenger for tomorrow’s main race.

During the parc Ferme weighing for the eliminated cars from Q1, Esteban Ocon was the last driver to move on to weighing the chassis. During this, two Red Bull employees were present helping cool the driver’s brakes during the weighing. Regardless of the multiple people working over the car, the 27-year-old failed to move out of the elimination zone from the Q1 itself.

Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly to begin the race from the last row tomorrow

Due to the horrifying Qualifying pace of the Alpine drivers, they will need to work extra hard to score some points in the main race. Ocon and Gasly would occupy the last row of the grid from the race start and hence this causes extra pressure on the crew. Alpine crew would have to ensure maximum efficiency during pit stops and race strategies.

Notably, Gasly began the 2023 Bahrain GP from P20 as well, however scored points in the race as he finished P9. Both drivers have been constantly working towards scoring better points for the 2024 campaign for Enstone. Hence, the drivers will try to maximize results for the race and hope to score some points at the season opener in Bahrain.

Apart from Alpine, both the Kick Sauber drivers were eliminated from Q1 as well alongside the Williams driver. Logan Sargeant was also eliminated from the session and will begin the race from P18 tomorrow. Max Verstappen has been showcasing great pace for the qualifying session as well and would likely score be the favorite for winning the race.
